After spending 10 years of his life practicing and playing basketball, junior Jeremy Lickteig, who was recently named MVP of the Bluestem Classic Tournament, has recently taken another significant step in his career: earning a spot on the varsity team.
“I first started playing competitive basketball in the second grade,” he said. “My mom had played in college, and my neighbor and I spent a lot of time on the driveway shooting hoops. I wasn’t very talented at first, but Biddy Basketball helped me come a long way.”

It seems like every time I turn on the radio, some rapper is singing about sex, drugs, or partying. What happened to the wholesome music my parents grew up with? Sure, their music was somewhat influenced by the drug craze at that time, but the artists were not nearly as careless with their lyrics and use of cuss words.
When immoral songs come on the radio, I cannot help but want to change the station. While some of the songs have catchy beats or refrains, the lyrics decide whether or not …

Last year, we had three snow …
Desiring to pull away from the latest vampire fad and still find an interesting book to read for my Honors English II book report, I found myself surveying my options at the public library. Strolling down the aisles, looking for a book that might grab my attention, I came across I Am Number Four, the basis of the movie by that same name.
